Community Care & After School Program

Community Care & After School Programs support summer camps from NPOs and Residential Communities, local private schools and non-private school providers for children ages 5-13.

The Honorable Lourdes A. Leon Guerrero, Governor of Guam, and the Honorable Joshua F. Tenorio, Lieutenant Governor of Guam, have established Prugråman i Pinilan i Famagu’on Guåhan pursuant to Executive Order 2022-07. In addition to making child care more affordable for working families, Governor Leon Guerrero, the Department of Public Health & Social Services (DPHSS), and the Guam Economic Development Authority (GEDA) are working together to support childcare providers, local businesses and non-profit organizations, provide opportunities for our youth to learn new skills and strengthen our community. The Governor’s Community Care & After School Care Program applications will be accepted until March 31, 2023 at 5pm. Completed applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis and will be subject to the availability of funds.

The Governor’s Community Care Program

Supports programs such as Summer Camps offered by Non-Profit Organizations and Residential Communities offering programs for children ages 5-13 years old. Award amount shall not exceed $50,000 per program and $100,000 per organization.

The Governor’s After School Care Program

Supports programs for local private schools and non-school providers such as performing arts studios, martial arts centers, and sports camps providing services to children ages 5-13 years old that are not already receiving Guam Department of Education (GDOE) funding. Award amount shall not exceed $50,000 per program and $100,000 per organization.

These grant funds must be used by September 30, 2023. Funding can be used to cover personnel costs, rent, utilities, facilities maintenance, insurance, personal protective equipment, supplies, goods, services, and/or mental health services.
