The Honorable Lourdes A. Leon Guerrero, Governor of Guam, and the Honorable Joshua F. Tenorio, Lieutenant Governor of Guam, have established Prugråman i Pinilan i Famagu’on Guåhan pursuant to Executive Order 2022-07. In addition to making child care more affordable for working families, Governor Leon Guerrero, Department of Public Health & Social Services (DPHSS), and Guam Economic Development Authority (GEDA) are working together to support childcare providers, local businesses and non-profit organizations, provide opportunities for our youth to learn new skills and strengthen our community. The Governor’s Community Care & After School Care Programs open on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 3:00PM and GEDA will accept applications until August 25, 2022. Completed applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis and will be subject to the availability of funds.
The Governor’s Community Care Program
Supports programs such as Summer Camps offered by Non-Profit Organizations and Residential Communities offering programs for children ages 5-13 years old. Award amount shall not exceed $50,000 per program with a maximum award of $100,000 per organization.
The Governor’s After School Care Program
Supports programs for local private schools and non-profit providers such as performing arts studios, martial arts centers, and sports camps providing services to children ages 5-13 years old that are not already receiving Guam Department of Education (GDOE) funding.
- Local Private Schools – award amount shall not exceed $50,000 per program based on enrollment for the use to enhance after school operations. Maximum grant award of $100,000 per organization.
- Non-School Providers – award amount shall not exceed $50,000 per program with a maximum grant award of $100,000.
These grant funds must be used within one (1) year following grant award or no later than September 30, 2023. Funding can be used to cover personnel costs, rent, utilities, facilities maintenance, insurances, personal protective equipment, supplies, goods, services and/or mental health services.
