The Real Property Division (RPD) is responsible for the development and management of GEDA’s industrial park program which consists of 26 individual property leases on 177 acres of developed lands in order to generate new jobs, revenue and increase economic opportunities. The program has generated average annual employment of 1,000 jobs, average annual payroll of over $20 million, average annual gross sales of $70 million, and annual gross receipts tax of $2 million.
The RPD previously managed military Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) activities and as a result now keeps track of military expansion activities by compiling and maintaining statistical data bases such as military contracts, military functions, personnel and activities, quality of life issues, guard and reservists, and other information that will assist the Government of Guam in its strategic planning to accommodate the proposed expansion of military presence on Guam. In addition, the staff also assists the Authority and other local government agencies in identifying and securing federal grants to support various economic development initiatives for Guam.
