Hafa Adai and Welcome!

These are great times for Guam and what lies ahead for our island will be unprecedented economic growth and development. The island's two main economic pillars, the U.S. Military and Tourism, remain healthy and vibrant proving that Guam is a "Business Smart Destination". Over the next 10 years the planned military build-up for our island will infuse billions of dollars into our economy and as a direct result every sector of Guam's economy will benefit and thrive.

Since its creation in 1965, GEDA has been charged with controlling and supervising integrated programs for the economic development of Guam. Our primary role is to serve as a catalyst for economic development by aiding private enterprise without unfairly competing with it. GEDA's mission is to develop a sound and sustainable economy through innovative programs that preserve and promote local culture, economic opportunities and quality of life.

Governor Felix P. Camacho has unveiled Guam's vision to address the military build-up, which is encapsulated in the phrase, "ONE Island, ONE Vision, ONE Future". This vision is based on the premise that we work as one community to develop sound community planning, ensure protection of our environment, and engage in prudent management of our resources. As the chairman of the Governor Camacho's Subcommittee on Economic Development, I have committed GEDA to assist with the management of the buildup and to ensure sustainable development by maximizing local small business participation in federal contracting opportunities.

GEDA will continue to meet its mission and mandates through its program offerings that include financial assistance, tax incentive opportunities, public finance services, and real property development and management.

For investors looking for new opportunities, now is a great time to consider Guam for your future investments. We invite you to partner and team with our strong small business community to grow Guam into a sustainable island community... "ONE Island, ONE Vision, ONE Future".

Sincerely,

Anthony C. Blaz
